Drizly, an alcohol delivery service, reported that new users accounted for 27% of their orders last week, compared to the normal 15%. This is not surprising, as alcohol sales have skyrocketed since the beginning of March.
Uber has now introduced Uber Connect and Uber Direct. These new services focus on transporting items instead of people in response to the decrease in demand for ride-sharing caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Toast, in their commitment to support the restaurant community, recently launched Toast Now and Toast Delivery Services in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, charging a flat delivery rate rather than commission fees.
We're also seeing that people aren't only buying for themselves, but gifting deliveries as well! Saucey, another alcohol delivery service, reported their gifting sales have increased 15 times, as people using the service to send their friends and family gifts or fun surprises continues to trend upward.
